Bad Chris

Well I promised I’d update more, and now you’ve seen I’m a filthy liar. My bad. Alot’s been going on, so I’ll try and recap…
I love my new job. IT work is what I’ve been wanting to do for a long time now, and now that I’m finaly there, I’m really enjoying it. It’s hard to belive they’re paying me to play around with computers all day, but it’s true. I also found out they’re payinng me a couple hours of overtime everyweek, so I’m making even more money than I originaly thought. They also cut paychecks every single week. Substitute teaching paid every MONTH!!! I figured I’ll get 4 paychecks from my new job before I get my last subbing paycheck. Crazy.
I also got my CSET test results back this week, and…. I PASSED BOTH TESTS! This is truly a miracle. I thought for sure I had failed the Algebra test, but I actually passed with a pretty good score. I was shocked. This means that I’m now (after two months of actually teaching math) subject certified, and I can start my student teaching. I’m in the process of applying now to the Credential Program at CSUN, so hopefully they still have room for me this fall. All this hassle and paperwork and a whole year of un-paid Student Teaching kind of makes me want to stay away from teaching, especially since my job is going so well. I have some serious thinking ahead of me.
Speaking of CSUN, I finally got off my ass and looked at my grades from last semester. I got two A-’s, a B+, and a B. Not to shabby if you ask me, but of course these education classes are ridiculously easy. So I printed out a transcript and sent it into my car insurance company, and they’re gonna give me a good studnet discount, so I’ll save around $400 or so.
So to celebrate my new found money, I blew $650 on a new computer. HAHA. It’s really more of a career investment, I’d like to think. At least that’ll help me sleep at night. The only downside, I have to wait til July 13 until it ships. Grrr… but I have some serious plans for my room now. This will be my third computer in my room, so I think I can do some pretty cool things.
Other than spending my money, things have been pretty slow around here. Lara just moved back to Valencia, however, so now I know at least one other person in this valley. We’ve decided to become afterwork buddies, so I’m sure we’ll be hanging out alot.
Bah, well that was scattered and rushed, but it’s Thursday night, so that means I’m going to Friday’s Happy Hour. I’ll post some more soon. Maybe.

    tag it, and bag it!

Yeah, I decided it was time to get over all my bitterness. It’s been 4 years, so I guess it just took a really long time to heal my broken heart. Besides, Chris is in charge of finding the good happy hours – definitely an ideal afterwork buddy.

Lara, I think we should keep communicating through posting on this website. Then at least it might get a little more action then it has recently.

  7. Mike says:

  8. Jeff says:

Yeah, Corney got a lot of action when we were camping near Sequoia. Corney and Tim went to bed at 9 PM…RIGHT…
